Often times a fascination with reptiles can be traced back to childhood. My story is no exception. I was raised on a farm and spent a great deal of time outdoors. As I encountered the natural world I found myself captured by the reptiles that I was capturing. My practice was “if you can catch it, you can keep it”. And this is what I did. Although, my mother can attest that there were occasional “containment failures”
As we age, responsibilities mount and other things take the place of sincere interests. The decision to keep snakes as a business is an adult like excuse to get back to the fond memories of earlier years.
Eden Snake has been a profitable venture, but not hugely. The benefits have been more unexpected. We have made good friends and have found ways to help each other along the way but real kicker comes in seeing the next generation take interest. Today, with some oversight, my son Elliot has taken over much of the day to day operation. He seems to have connected with animals in much the same way that I did when I was his age. The path his life will take might lead him away, but I’m confident that he will never forget the lessons he learned while caring for the little green snakes at source of our fascination.
At the present time we are producing Green Tree Pythons from some of the finest lineages available.
From time to time we are asked about our name. It comes from the book of Genesis in Bible. If you are interested in knowing more about it please drop us a line.
Sincerely,
Jeremy
